Cherry Cola Cardigan
I have a very special pattern for you as my first release of 2017! The little one in your life needs a Cherry Cola Cardigan!
The name of this pattern comes from the colors I used, and that fact it is sock yarn. I think about the 1950s and “sock hops” and cherry colas! The pattern is a classic cardigan yet with modern features that will always keep it in fashion – unlike the old soda shops!
One thing I have never understood about children’s patterns is why so many are made with worsted-weight yarn. Using a fingering weight, the fabric has drape and doesn’t make the child look like the Marshmallow Man from Ghostbusters. I used Lion Brand Yarns Sock-Ease in the Cotton Candy colorway for the model, but it would look great in any color!
Despite the color of the model, that pattern is made to be a unisex sweater, with instructions on putting the buttons on either side of the sweater as it suits your needs. It is designed with children ages 2-8 in mind but with minimal shaping you can easily adjust it to fit smaller children if needed! The pattern is professionally tech, edited, and includes stitch charts as well as the written pattern. 6 pages in full color.
