Morcellement – a new top-down crochet shawl pattern
Morcellement is a verb defined as “division into small portions” in the 1933 Oxford dictionary. As this pattern was originally my 2017 Mystery Shawl Crochet-A-Long (MCAL) and sent out in portions, I thought the name was perfect!
This triangular shawl is worked from the top down starting with simple stitches and as the pattern goes forward, the pattern becomes more lacy and eventually has a 1-row edging. Light and elegant, everyone will love this shawl.
If you did not take advantage of the MCAL in February when I had the discount pricing – I wanted to be sure that ALL of you would be able to get a bit of a discount now that the pattern is completed, released and has everything all in one gorgeous 4-page pattern. The pattern is charted for those who like visual pattern and is professionally tech edited for those of you who like the words!
As a little Sidebar – keep an eye out on my blog in April for a special how-to video on the edging!
I used the gorgeous Invictus Yarns Poetry for my shawl – but you can use any fingering weight yarn that you love! By the way – check out all the beautiful projects from this pattern over on Ravelry! (click on that button below) They will give you a glimpse into what other yarns you could use!
